With great power, comes great responsibility. Same thing is applicable to our devices also. If you want to root your device, you should have to first keep in mind the advantages and disadvantages
of rooting. So before proceeding, I suggest you to have a look on the below advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages/pros of rooting:

  • After rooting, you will have the super user access to your operating system even you can install a new operating system to your mobile phone.
  • With these advanced super privileges, you will never get the access denied in your device.
  • You can install those special advanced softwares  which need to have a root access.
  • There are many third party applications installed that come on handy when you buy a new phone. So after rooting, you can uninstall those preinstalled bloatwares that are eating away your RAM. Ie. You can uninstall the system softwares.
  • After rooting, you will be the administrator of your device while in a normal(unrooted phone), the device manufacturer is the administrator.
  • You can install/flash custom ROM’S,  install kernals, flash custom recovery modes etc.

Besides advantages, there are many disadvantages and threats also, while rooting your device.

Disadvantages of rooting

  • Warranty: Rooting will void your warranty. Once you rooted, the care centre will not help you even if you have that warranty slip too. You will be the owner of the device and not the company.
  • Fear of Bricking: If you are done something wrong, you may brick your phone. A bricked phone is of no use.
  • Security: As you are opening all the security passes, it means you are opening the gate for all those malwares and viruses that may attack your operating system. So you should have a good antivirus to secure your phone.
  • While the rooting process, do not interrupt it else you may brick your phone.
  • Unsupported services: You may not be able to use some services that are not allowed on a rooted phone. Example, google refuses to support the google wallet service for rooted devices.
S             Now its all depend on whether you want to root or not? Be careful while doing this, else you may damage your device.
